If there’s one place in Newfoundland that everyone takes for granted, it is Bowring Park. It isn’t the largest park in the world. It doesn’t have a zoo, or a mall, or a museum. Compared to many other parks in Canada and the U.S.A. it definitely lacks many of the more common features and amenities of larger parks like Central Park in New York.
But what it does have, and perhaps has more of than any other similar park in the world, is peace and tranquility, two traits that found in the middle of the city offer an escape from the noise, greater than I’ve found anywhere else in St. John’s.
This first picture should be indication enough of how much of a flee from the city is possible. Look at the rolling hills in the background, not even a house is visible. You’re in nature, surrounded by the birds and the bees, far from tooting horns, rumbling dump trucks, and angry cyclists, there’s no better place to have an outdoor ceremony.
I’ve had a lot of wedding parties through Bowring Park for photos, but few ceremonies. And none with a backdrop as wonderfully romantic as the old Weeping Beech Tree on the Bungalow’s lawn.
I present the wonderfully romantic and later on hilarious photos of Sarah and Tyler’s Bowring Park wedding, enjoy.

One of the nicer aspects of Bowring Park is that it offers good options for contrast in your photos. It isn’t all flowers and trees.

I love this in black and white. Tyler’s white coat was such a refreshing take over the constant dark suits.
