Dodging Raindrops and Havin’ a Time on Chrissie & Sheldon’s Wedding Day
In Newfoundland there are painfully high odds that it will rain on your wedding day. But as they say, wait five minute and it will change.
And so it did. The morning of the wedding it was overcast and on the verge of raining. It did not look promising. But as we left the hair salon it began to brighten just a little bit as the sun barely peeked through the cloud.
During the ceremony it was splitting the rocks.
All throughout the ceremony it was hot and sunny outside, but large clouds loomed on the horizon. We hustled to get the formal pictures done before it rained. As we finished we heard the low rumble of thunder in the distance. Two minutes later it was raining and hard. Big drops fell so quickly that a pool of water began to form on the top of my DSLR’s as I held them to my face to take photos — in the rain.
Though we all got a little wet — some more then others — between the drops we captured some lovely photos. Even some on the Gander Bay causeway, which I was later informed is the first time anyone had done that.
Chrissie and Sheldon were amazing and their photos, thanks to the epic thunderstorm rolling through, were just as amazing. Enjoy!
