Short But Sweet – A Snowy Spring East Coast Trail Hike Along Cobbler Path
A lovely spring afternoon is no better spent than with a bud on the East Coast Trail. It’s been two years or more since JT and myself were able to hook up for a hike, albeit a short one and on familiar trails but we looked forward to it none the less.
It’s been about 3 years since we last hiked out to this point on Cobbler Path. It makes up the first section of the ECT from Dorin’s Lane to Red Cliff. That slightly longer hike is one of our favorites on the Trail and we’re much looking forward to seeing that section again soon when our hiking legs are back beneath us.
Hopefully with a renewed eye for the area and a different look — having never done it during the winter — some new pictures were to be found.
You can find more about this section of the East Coast Trail by visiting their website.
- JT navigates the snow.
- The cuts left in the hills from glacial ice as it scaped and melted its way into the ocean alsways impresses me.

- This is the entrance to Torbay, just on the right. When zoomed in max 1:1 I can see my house, almost 4 miles away as the crow flies.

- Looking south.
- The shore is rugged to say the least. You can walk all the way down to the water here but you’d be taking your life in your hands if you did.

- We began the ascent back up the hill that on the way down seemed not so bad. On the way up however… Photo courtesy Justin Tobin
- For scale, there’s another hiker and her dog hidden way near the top of the hump.
